Digital Print Specialist

DSI Marketing Communications is seeking a Wide Format/Digital Print Specialist. The right candidate must be a team player, an effective time manager, be attentive to detail, take initiative as necessary and work effectively in a team environment with fast turnarounds.

Responsibilities:
The DSI Wide Format/Digital Print Specialist is primarily responsible for printing and completing wide format (banners, canvas prints, stickers, etc.) and digital print projects. This position will also assist other functions of the Print Shop including fulfillment, mailing and bindery while minimizing waste, maintaining DSI's quality standards and following DSI's procedures.

Specific Duties:
Manage the end-to-end print project flow from receiving files to delivery of final product for wide format projects
Assist with and cover as needed the end-to-end print project flow from receiving files to delivery of final product for digital print & fulfillment projects
Deliver high quality & accurate materials on time and on budget
Perform various shop & building maintenance tasks as needed to ensure minimal downtime
Support a positive work environment including positive co-worker morale
Manage quality control procedures to ensure all materials you produce meet DSI standards
Ensure safety standards are followed when operating machinery
Perform preflight for print projects as required by DSI SOPs
Ensure proof approval for projects from the Production Planners
Work in all areas of the Print Shop (digital print, bindery, fulfillment, wide format, shipping & receiving) as needed
Effectively project upcoming work schedule to ensure work is produced in a timely and streamlined manner and communicate with peers
Recommend process changes as needed to ensure department efficiencies
Schedule regular machine maintenance to proactively ensure the shop and its machinery are always in top notch working condition
When machines are down find an alternative processes to ensure downtime has minimal impact on workload
Input project notes and print specs including color match technique used into company database
Maintain a clean, safe and clutter free work environment
Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of DSI data
Work with vendors to secure supplies and maintain equipment as needed
Assist with estimating project costs
Assist with graphic installations as needed
Be consistently aware of project statuses and due dates
Communicate with appropriate team members regularly regarding project progression
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of DSI services
Perform all additional tasks as required
Regularly meet with manager to review performance

Key Competencies

years of experience
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Organized and able to problem-solve without constant supervision

Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to complete project and achieve or exceed goals
Must have be reliable with own transportation
Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of data
Problem analysis and assessment skills a plus

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
Ability to climb ladders and heights, including but not limited to stretching, bending, and climbing in outdoor
and indoor environments

Skills/Qualifications
Knowledge and expertise of digital print industry, including fabrication, hands on experience with signage operations, operation of wide format digital printers, plotters and laminators
?Knowledge of Caldera RIP Version X and related production software
Prior sign industry production experience a plus

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
