EMC Supervisor - Littleton, MA

Position Summary
Direct an EMC lab of about 20 people over three shifts to maximize production while maintaining the quality of work and client satisfaction. Work within our Quality System to manage calibration records, qualification files, test equipment and test methods.
To supervise the department, to provide timely, accurate, prompt and professional services to our internal and external clients that meet or exceed their expectations.
Major Roles & Responsibilities
Monitor and address staffing needs and issues, prioritizing workload to ensure turnaround times and client expectations are met.
Work with staff to develop and maintain testing expertise in ITE, Medical, Telecom and Wireless/Radio EMC emissions and immunity standards ensuring test procedures are being followed.
Ensure staff growth and development, including performance evaluation, goal setting, and proper training.
Review test reports for technical accuracy.
Prepares quotes with client services, assisting with identifying appropriate standards / protocols for testing, providing direction.
Responsible for ensuring equipment and instrumentation is maintained and calibrated.
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, as required.
Perform specialized testing/reporting and method development, as required.
Conduct verbal and written communications to clients regarding technical issues.
Ensure accurate and prompt client service, including but not limited to technical inquiries, program requirements, pricing, capability and reporting
Offer problem resolution, as applicable, for any client issues identified, highlighted or questioned with the aim of enhancing client satisfaction and improving client relations.
Communicate significant client issues for resolution, and monitor sales and submissions to track client satisfaction.
Support business development/service delivery and build rapport with clients through participation in client meetings, technical/educational lab tours, prepare client presentations and participate in seminars.
Work with other department leadership to provide feedback to site leaders regarding departmental systems, processes and recommendations for improvements and cost savings to achieve site wide goals.
Assist management with the closing of CARs in a timely manner.
Monitor the work environment for safety hazards and promptly recommend or take action to address any and all concerns in accordance with location safety procedures.
Monitor processes and track KPI's for the EMC Lab (production efficiency, equipment utilization, turnaround time, etc.), and report, address and put corrective actions in place to resolve issues within and outside of the department.
Assist with research and developing new testing services / capabilities as directed by lab manager.
Represent the company during certification audits.
Ensure adherence to and implementation of the guidelines set forth in the BV-CPS Quality Manual as well as maintenance of the quality system.
Adhere to the requirements of the BV-CPS Quality System and assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Laboratory Quality System.
Provide feedback to department Manager regarding departmental systems, processes and recommendations for improvements.
Represent the Product Safety Department during certification audits.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Solid working knowledge of EMC test standards such as FCC Part 15, EN55022/32, EN55024/35 and EN60601-1-2 (MED)
Experience with Korea and Taiwan EMC testing a plus
Familiarity with ANSI C63 standards related to EMC test methods and test equipment.
Knowledge of EMC radio standards such as FCC Part 15, RSS 247, RSS 210, EN300 328, EN310 489 and EN 300330 a plus
Method development skills

Experience and Educational Background Required for the Job
Supervisor I:
4 year technical degree with 2 years industry related experience and 2 years leadership experience
Supervisor II:
4 year technical degree with 4 years industry related experience and 3 years supervisory experience
Supervisor III:
4 year technical degree with 5-6 years industry related experience and 5 years supervisory experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
